Product Description

SLIPWAY ™ is a unique balanced formulation of specialty non-hazardous vegetable oil derivatives specifically designed for use in the asphalt industry as a protective barrier to prevent sticking of bitumen to metal surfaces.

It offers excellent slip characteristics while providing a high level of operator health and safety with minimal adverse impact on the environment.

Product Usage

APPLICATOR

An application device has been specifically designed and developed for easy application of SLIPWAY into trucks at asphalt plants. The unit is complete with a variable spray gun and usage rates can be easily managed via a dual timer control complete with lock out. This optional unit is available on request from Victorian Chemicals under a supply agreement.

APPLICATION

Apply the minimum amount of SLIPWAY required to cover all working surfaces. Avoid excess application which may result in running or pooling of product. A typical application requires approx. 300mL to 500mL per truck. PMB bitumen may require higher application rates.

SLIPWAY may also be applied by hand sprayer, brush or mop. Working tools can be protected by simply immersing in undiluted product.

CAUTION

When this product is in contact with rubber and latex components, it can over time cause them to swell which may affect their functionality. Incidental or intermittent contact is usually less of an issue than continual contact. Other elastomers such as viton and polytetraflouroethylene (PTFE) have generally been found to be less affected and are therefore used preferentially in pump seals and in other fittings. Polypropylene storage tanks have been found to be suitable to store the product.

Storage and Safety

When stored indoors at temperatures below 40ºC and in closed original containers, this product can be stored for up to 1 year.

mixed with any other product

exposed to air for prolonged periods or extreme temperature

Clean equipment with water before using SLIPWAY. Do not return unused product to original container.

SLIPWAY is not classified as a dangerous good. It is non hazardous and considered of low risk to health if used according to appropriate industrial hygiene practices. Ensure good ventilation during use. Skin and eye contact should be avoided.

SLIPWAY is biodegraded by natural processes and poses a low risk to the environment.
